Frequently Asked Questions
We understand that students sometimes need to withdraw from a course because of a change in circumstance. With a few exceptions (see below), we are able to offer the following options to students.

Intro to GenAI in Visual Storytelling No refunds are available.
Film Portfolio Fundamentals Workshop Up to 7 days before the workshop, students can withdraw for a 50% refund (minus a $50 administrative fee).
1-on-1 Film Portfolio Advising Scheduled sessions are not eligible for rescheduling. No refunds are available after purchase.
We do not currently offer courses for credit.
We offer both in-person and virtual classes. Intro to GenAI in Visual Storytelling will be an in-person, non-residential one-week class on Sarah Lawrence's campus. The Film Portfolio Fundamentals Workshop and the 1-on-1 Portfolio Advising will take place over Zoom.
Course Name
Intro to GenAI in Visual Storytelling Students will be sent an email containing an information form that they must fill out before the class begins. Upon completion of the form, they will receive information on the classroom address before the class begins.
Film Portfolio Fundamentals Workshop Students will receive a Zoom link via email 24 hours before the scheduled session.
1-on-1 Film Portfolio Advising Students will be sent an email containing a link to Calendly, where they can select the date and time for their meeting. Upon selecting a time to meet, they will be emailed a Zoom link.

Class registration remains open until the class is sold out or until 24 hours before the class begins. We recommend registering early to guarantee your spot!

Intro to GenAI in Visual Storytelling Students do not need to prepare material in advance.
Film Portfolio Fundamentals Workshop Students do not need to prepare material in advance.
1-on-1 Film Portfolio Advising Students should share materials at least three days in advance with the instructor.
: A helpful guideline is to base the number of sessions on how many programs you plan to apply to. If you're applying to just one school, 1 to 3 sessions may be sufficient. However, if you're targeting multiple programs, each will likely require tailored materials and preparation. In that case, booking 5 to 10 sessions—or more—can provide the support needed to address each application thoroughly.
