The College's parking regulations aim to improve operational efficiency, neighborhood relations, landscaping, and safety. A successful parking program requires cooperation from everyone in the College community.
To ensure that you do not receive a parking violation ticket and fine, please observe the following regulations at all times.
Summer 2025 Parking Information:
- Hill House: No parking
- Kober Upper Lot: All vehicles must park overnight here

- Special Permits: Handicapped parking and reserved spots require appropriate permits
General Regulations:
- Only one vehicle can be registered per person.
- Falsifying registration will lead to disciplinary action, including loss of parking privileges.
- The vehicle owner is responsible for fines and towing expenses.
- Only self or immediate family-owned cars can be registered.
- Sarah Lawrence College is not responsible for vehicles parked on campus.
- A parking permit does not guarantee a space due to limited availability.
- All vehicles must be registered and display a valid permit.
- Unregistered vehicles need a visitor's pass, temporary pass, or special permission to park. Temporary passes may be obtained at Campus Operations (914)395-2385.
- Parking permit fees are non-refundable and non-pro-rated.
- Permits are non-transferable; students are responsible for violations, even if someone else is driving.
- Follow all state and local traffic laws; campus speed limit is 15 MPH.
- Special restrictions may apply due to maintenance, events, or snow days, with prior notice given.
- Report any vehicle ownership changes to Campus Operations promptly.
Parking Violation Penalties:
- Registered Vehicles: 1st violation: $35, 2nd violation: $50, 3rd+ violation: $75
- Unregistered Vehicles: All violations: $75 fine + towing/booting at owner’s expense
- Special Violations: Fire lane, handicapped, or snow event violations: $100 fine + towing/booting
Appealing and Paying Fines:
- Write to Campus Operations ([email protected]) within 2 weeks to appeal.
- Students: Charges to College account. Others: Pay in cash.
- Boot Removal: Pay fine at Campus Operations (Andrew House) during business hours or Campus Safety (Swinford Annex) after hours.
Accessible Parking:
- Any vehicles with a city- or state-issued accessible plates or permits may park in any designated accessible parking space on campus.
- Accessible parking is available in the Westlands, Kober, Andrews, 45 Wrexham, and North parking lots, and near the Performing Arts Center.
- Students with temporary disabilities can request a temporary accessible permit from Health [email protected] or Disability Services [email protected].
Special Conditions:
- Avoid parking on public streets near campus. The City of Yonkers enforces parking limits.
- If no spaces are available in assigned lots, park in Kober Lot.
- Parking on campus roads or in house driveways may result in fines or towing.
