Since 2017, writer Jami Attenberg has led a community write along with a simple goal: write 1000 words a day for two weeks and come away with lots of writing to push against and revise, a sense of accomplishment, and the satisfaction of writing alongside thousands of others all around the world.

This year, the Writing Institute is participating as a community! Kick off a summer of writing with WI staff, instructors, and students together on Zoom. Come every day or when you can and write 1000 words or whatever metric makes sense for you.

While we will offer prompts to get you started if you need, this is not a workshop, and we won't be sharing work. Say hello, turn off your camera, write for 50 minutes, and share your word count in the chat if you like! We also encourage you to sign up for Jami's newsletter, Craft Talk, for daily wisdom and inspiration from published authors.
